General Assembly

The client

General Assembly is an education organisation founded in 2011, with a focus on giving people relevant and up-to-date training in tech and business skills. With an initial focus on coding, they now run courses in data science, analytics, product development and UX design.

The challenge

Alongside their longer courses, General Assembly London was developing a rolling roster of short workshops (ranging from 3-hours to 1-day). They needed teachers who could generate course ideas, develop the content, and deliver highly interactive learning sessions. When the Covid pandemic hit in 2020, these workshops also needed to be moved from the General Assembly campus to remote delivery via Zoom.

The results

We developed and delivered hundreds of workshops on content strategy, data visualisation, infographics and product development – with consistently high feedback from the buzzing General Assembly community. We successfully transitioned the workshops to remote delivery without losing any of the interactivity and exercises. The new delivery method also opened up new opportunities, as it allowed us to bring students from all over the world into the same workshop session.

Testimonial

“It’s an absolute pleasure working with Alan. He provides excellent infographics and product management workshops for the General Assembly - London community and we love having him as part of our instructor network.”
